In 1986 when we first started selling digital pianos, we consistently had to apologise for their performance - today however, it’s a different story. Digital pianos are now a serious alternative to a traditional piano and usually cost considerably less.

With the huge variety of digital pianos on today’s market, how do you choose? It’s easy to be too hasty and end up with a totally unsuitable instrument. We will help you to buy the right instrument to suit both your needs and your pocket!

There are basically two types of digital piano; “straight" & "ensemble". The straight piano is a no frills instrument with a good piano tone and a small selection of other sounds. These extra sounds usually include Harpsichord, Vibes, Strings etc.. Some boast built-in recorders, metronomes and other features but all are designed for the pianist whose interest lies mainly in good piano sound and touch.

The ensemble piano is the ideal family instrument, suitable for both the novice and advanced pianist. Although at a slightly higher price, these models combine the facilities offered by the straight models plus everything you’d normally expect from a good quality home keyboard.

Plus....all digital pianos never need tuning and can be used with headphones for silent practice.

For only an extra £100, we can offer you a complete delivery and installation service, including the unboxing, construction, checking and delivery of your new piano to your front door, and putting it in situ for you as well! Alternatively, other online retailers would deliver a large box, and leave you to construct your instrument and dispose of the packaging. In that case, there is a risk that you could damage your instrument, and the online retailer could not be held responsible as the instrument was signed for as being in good order when it arrived.

However, for us to maintain this high quality service, we unfortunately can only offer this to customers who live within a 50mile radius of our Chobham showrooms. If you are not located within this radius, our helpful and friendly staff will be more than happy to arrange for your piano to be delivered to you by courier.

The Yamaha 'Clavinova' brand name is recognised worldwide as being one of the leaders in digital pianos. Yamaha have a distinctive bright tone similar to that of their excellent acoustic pianos. Many well-known music establishments, such as the Royal Academy of Music, have been using Clavinovas for many years. Not only is the piano tone very accurate, but the Graded Hammer key action replicates the variation in weight of a traditional piano keyboard - low notes are slightly heavier than the high notes. Most models are offered in a choice of attractive simulated wood finishes, so we're sure that one of them will suit you just fine !

Roland are renowned for offering a quality piano sound. Their progressive hammer action keyboard is rated as one of the most authentic digital piano actions by many. The Royal College of Music have chosen Roland pianos for their Keyboard Skills Course, so they must be good! Most models have a built-in metronome and song record facility, which assists with practicing. There are a variety of finishes available across the range - light oak and maple have proven particularly popular with those who have modern furniture. All instruments have a 3 year warranty.
